LORAIN COUNTY MEDICAL SOCIETY
about us
For nearly 130 years, the Lorain County Medical Society has stood as the voice and advocate for physicians in our community—supporting your work, protecting your autonomy, and providing a trusted forum for collaboration and ideas. Our advocacy is more than words; in 2025, we partnered with the Ohio State Medical Association to secure critical language in HB96, ensuring that no Ohio court can order a medical practitioner to perform procedures inconsistent with their expert judgment, including body cavity and strip searches. Beyond advocacy, we are deeply committed to the future of medicine through our Scholarship Foundation, which awarded $30,000 to local medical students in 2025, made possible in part by our annual 5K Scholarship Fundraiser.
Besides our annual scholarship fundraiser, we also host Women in Medicine events, Physician Advocacy Talks, CME Programs, and more! But none of this would be possible without membership. Your support is what allows us to continue championing physicians, hosting educational and community events, and investing in the next generation of medical leaders. By joining today, you’re not only gaining a network—you’re helping ensure the Lorain County Medical Society remains strong for the next 130 years and beyond!
